EURIE 2023 Education Summit, Istanbul, 28 February - 3 March 2023

UAB was part of EURIE Education Summit, organized in Istanbul. We have concluded new agreements with Ataturk University in Ankara, Izmir University of Economics, Aydin University in Istanbul, Faisalabad University in Pakistan, Panang University in Malayesia, as well expand our existing cooperation with Marmara University and Hasan Kalyoncu University in Gaziantep.

Fall 2022 Morocco Fairs

A delegation of  "1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia participated between 28.11.2022-30.11.2022, in Morocco, at the international educational fair "Morroco Fairs 2022", organized in two of the main cities of Morocco, Casablanca and Marrakech. Through the Study in Romania program, we have undertaken the mission to promote Romania as a study destination, thus increasing the visibility of our university internationally and we have proposed to initiate partnerships with other academic communities present at the event. 

Internationalisation is an essential component of the development strategy assumed by the UAB and is an essential element in order to increase the quality of education and research.

Official visit in Vietnam

University of Alba Iulia participates, between October 28th and 29th, at an important international educational fair, the "Vietnam Education Fair", an event that takes place in Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam. The UAB delegation is ready to answer visitors' questions about the study programs (bachelor, master, doctorate) that UAB has and to provide them with an overview of how they can evolve professionally as students in Alba Iulia.

Jordan Erasmus+ Networking Seminar

UAB was represented at Erasmus+ Networking Seminar in Jordan by two colleagues from the Center for International Relations, sharing the experience of our University in Blended Intensive Programmes, International Credit Mobility, being actively involved in the plenary sessions.

Barcelona 2022: 32nd Annual EAIE Conference and Exhibition

UAB attends EAIE 2022 (European Association for International Education) in Barcelona. This annual conference is organized with the support of the National Council of Rectors and Study in Romania Programme. The objective of the 6000 participants worldwide is to strengthen the international partnerships and to internationalize the higher education.

Official visit in Jordan

On May 11th, 2022, was signed in Amman the Partnership Agreement between the "1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia and Hasemite University in Jordan, in order to develop multidisciplinary academic activities. This is intended to strengthen cooperation and institutional exchange under the Erasmus Plus Program.

Our Rector, Prof.univ.dr. Valer Daniel Breaz, signed the agreement with Prof. Fawwaz Al-Abed Al-Haq, President of the University of Jordan, in the presence of Mr. Sultan Al-Maani, Vice President of HU, Mr. Adnan Abusra, Head of International Relations and UAB representatives. During the discussions, the importance of exchanges of experience was emphasized, with the aim of cooperating in research and creating new study opportunities, academic mobility and the development of skills already assimilated by UAB students.

Official visit in Cuba

During the official visit of the UAB's delegation  in Cuba, 3 collaboration agreements were signed on 09.02.2022,  with universities  from Cuba: 𝐻𝑎𝑣𝑎𝑛𝑎 University, 𝑀𝑎𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑧𝑎 University and  𝐶𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑎𝑙  ,,𝑀𝑎𝑟𝑡𝑎 𝐴𝑏𝑟𝑒𝑢" 𝑑𝑒 𝐿𝑎𝑠 𝑉𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑠 University. The partnerships concluded aim, with priority, to identify and carry out bilateral activities and projects that will ensure the continuity of the training process for students and teachers. Discussions with the representatives of the mentioned universities, in the presence of the Romanian Ambassador to Cuba, Mrs. Theodora -Magdalena Mircea and the Minister of Higher Education of Cuba, Mr. Jose Romon Sabirido Loidi, pointed out the need to create as many bridges of collaboration between students, teachers and specialists in various fields of activity to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, experiences and good practices.

Cooperation Agreement with Minnesota University, Duluth

University of Alba Iulia is taking another step towards opening new horizons in the internationalization of higher education in Alba Iulia. Recently, UAB started an important cooperation with the University of Minnesota, Duluth, one of the most prestigious public research universities in the United States. University of Minnesota, Duluth is part of the University of Minnesota system and has a huge research experience. The cooperation agreement focuses on the exchange of teachers and students, joint activities, organization of conferences and the exchange of publications.

 

Cooperation Agreement with Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland

The Center for International Relations of "1 December 1918" University of Alba Iulia has signed a new cooperation agreement with Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland, one of the oldest universities in the world. Jagiellonian University was founded in 1364 by the Polish king Casimir the Great and is one of the most innovative universities in Europe. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, master's and doctoral studies, 94 study programs and 158 specializations with a total number of approximately 40,000 students. The cooperation agreement that our university recently established with Jagiellonian University offers the possibility to teachers and students of Philology, to implement teaching mobility, respectively transnational study mobility financed by the Erasmus + programme.

Official visit in the Federal Republic of Germany

The internationalization is a constant concern of UAB academic community, so between 06.12.2021-10.12.2021, a new step was taken in this direction, that of developing strategic partnerships with various research and education institutions. Thus, on 07.12.2021 a UAB delegation participated in a meeting with Prof. Dr. Gesine Grande, President of the Brandenburg Technical University (TU Cottbus) in the Federal Republic of Germany, with which a collaboration protocol was concluded in order to strengthen the relations between universities, and the development of joint projects.

Beyond the dimension of international mobility of UAB students and researchers, these partnerships are also intended to establish relations with the economic, social, or cultural environment. We consider that the main beneficiary of the efforts made by UAB in the direction of internationalization is the student, who has the possibility to become part of a global ecosystem, meant to professionally prepare him to perform on an increasingly complex and dynamic market.

Official visit in Kazakhstan

Between November 11 and 18, 2021, a delegation of “1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia, visited the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Nur Sultan (ENU), Kazakhstan, an institution with which UAB has signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of education and research, a memorandum that allowed the implementation of 4 international study mobilities, supported and funded by ENU, currently ongoing at UAB. During the visit, the UAB delegation had meetings with Her Excellency Mrs. Madalina Lupu, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador who expressed her full readiness to support the strengthening of cooperation in the field of tertiary education and research with higher education institutions in Kazakhstan. With the support of the Romanian Embassy in Nur Sultan, the UAB delegation met with the Rector of the University of Turan - Astana (TAU), the discussions being constructive and laying the foundations for new perspectives of collaboration, to add value to the two academic communities by signing a memorandum of understanding.

Official visit to the University of Cyprus

During June 28 and July 2, 2021, a delegation of “1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia visited the University of Cyprus, a prestigious educational institution in Nicosia. During the visit, the delegation was accompanied by His Excellency, Mr. Dan Mihalache, the Ambassador of Romania in Cyprus. The meeting aimed at discussing the perspectives regarding the extension of the collaboration relations between our universities, the initiation of common experience exchange programs, respectively the development and improvement of the scientific research activity.
