Starting with the 2025–2026 academic year, "1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia (UAB) is launching the UAB Scholars Program, a strategic initiative that supports the university’s internationalization goals and aims to attract talented international students who wish to pursue academic programs taught in English.
The UAB Scholarships are awarded through a competitive selection process, based on an admission score that combines the final grade of previous qualifying studies (30%) with the result of an online motivational interview (70%). Candidates must be foreign citizens, as defined by the applicable regulations, who have received a letter of acceptance for studies in Romania in an English-taught program at UAB, on tuition-paying positions in foreign currency. Applicants must not have previously benefited from a Romanian state scholarship or any other scholarship from a higher education institution in Romania for the same level of study, and must fully comply with the application conditions and deadlines set by UAB.
The program is open to applicants who wish to study in the following programs offered in English:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration
• Master’s degree in Business Administration or English Language, Literature and Culture in the European Context
Successful candidates will benefit from a full tuition waiver and receive a monthly financial support of 1000 RON for the duration of their studies.
To be eligible for the selection, candidates must receive their official letter of acceptance for studies in Romania no later than September 21, 2025. The motivational interviews will be conducted online between September 22 - 26, 2025, on a date set by the UAB admission committee.
Through this program, "1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia reinforces its commitment to academic excellence, diversity, and international openness, offering students from all over the world the opportunity to study in a modern academic environment in the heart of Transylvania.
