History

In 1997, in order to support students and graduates of higher education in career guidance and finding jobs, the Ministry of Education proposed to the Senates of all universities in the country the establishment of a Career Guidance and Employment Center for students and graduates.

 

Based on the Order of the Ministry of National Education no. 3277 / 16.02.1998, UAB Senate, meeting on April 1998, proposes the establishment of the Consultancy Department for choosing the professional route and placement on the labor market, based in Building C, 1st floor, room 10. During the same meeting, it was nominated and approved unanimously Mr. Senior Lecturer Nicolae Luduşan – Ph.D. student, as director of the department.

 

In the 1999-2012 period CICOC-UAB was coordinated by Mrs. Prof. Mărioara Luduşan, Ph.D.

 

Since 2012, CICOC-UAB is coordinated by Ms. Assoc Prof. Larisa Dragolea, Ph.D.

 

The Center for Information, Counseling and Career Guidance of UAB comes to the aid of students by providing information, counseling, and guidance services for choosing a future career. The members of this Center are representatives of all the departments of the University, which on a voluntary basis actively support the students, offering the aforementioned services.

 

The UAB Senate, meeting in June 2013, approved the Regulation on the organization and functioning of the Department of Analysis and Forecast Management of Labor Market Demands (DGAPSPM), a center that will operate within the Center for Information and Counseling in (CICOC) and will aim to facilitate graduates' access to the labor market.

Career guidance for students. The Center for Information, Counseling and Career Guidance carries out activities in partnership with the Students' League of UAB, the ALUMNI Association, local, national and international public institutions; public and private companies.

 

CICOC's collaboration relations materialize in: signing a series of viable partnership agreements with institutions, associations and foundations, and in 2013 the database of 2012 graduates was completed, which includes all the specializations of the University. The Center has good collaboration relations with the other administrative-functional centers, with which it carries out information actions for students, as well as with CMCSI, providing the necessary information in the accreditation / authorization files, related to the professional evolution and insertion on the labor market. CICOC members are currently involved in developing a Career Guidance Guide, and the volunteer team is involved in writing projects under the Youth in Action Program.

 

The Center for Information, Counseling and Career Guidance holds a series of events annually, designed to facilitate students' access to the labor market, prepare them for the transition from school to working life, get in touch with potential employers, prepare for the interview, get involved in volunteer activities: Open Doors Week, Job Exchange, information sessions, meetings with employers.
