I.PREAMBUL
Integration into the strategic plan of the "1 DECEMBRIE 1918" UNIVERSITY OF ALBA IULIA for the period 2020 - 2024 and of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences
The objectives of the research operational plan of the Department of Legal and Administrative Sciences within the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences were outlined based on the Strategic Plan of the "1 DECEMBRIE 1918" UNIVERSITY OF ALBA IULIA for the period 2020 - 2024 and the Operational Plan of the University and of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences for 2021, but represent, At the same time, an update of the research strategy and operational plan for 2020. The benchmarks of this update were established based on the analyses carried out on the current context in which universities operate, taking into account, in particular, the consequences on institutional development of the new legal provisions regarding the classification of universities and the hierarchy of study programs.
The major option of the strategy consists in the quantitative expansion and qualitative development of research, by involving each teacher to a sustained and team effort, in order to better position the University, the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences and the study programs supported by the Department of Legal and Administrative Sciences.
In this respect, the following STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES and DIRECTIONS OF ACTION related to the scientific research activity are considered:
- INTERNATIONALIZATION AND ADAPTATION TO THE LABOR MARKET
Directions of action:
- identifying and attracting new sources of funding for research activity,
- extending research themes and projects financed through grants and research contracts and by accessing European funds for funding scientific research;
- promoting and developing cooperation and partnerships in the field of scientific research at national and international level;
- extending forms of scientific cooperation by organizing/participating in international conferences and exchanges of publications.
- QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE
Direction of action:
- increasing the importance and role of research in long-term institutional development;
- increasing the quality and number of publications produced by teachers and the share of internationally indexed works;
- increasing the degree of involvement of students, master and doctoral students in scientific research activity;
- developing scientific documentation possibilities through permanent acquisitions of specialized books, subscriptions to domestic and international publications, as well as expanding access to specialized databases and virtual libraries;
- supporting the development of the department's journal, maintaining it in international databases and expanding this listing.

3. EFFECTIVE INTEGRATION OF THE FACULTY INTO THE COMMUNITY
Direction of action:
- expanding the collaboration with JUS Alba Association;
- development of facilities for electronic promotion of study programs, scientific research and internal communication;
- developing constructive partnerships with local and regional authorities, as well as with various institutions, organizations and agencies, in order to carry out joint projects leading to the development of the university as well as of the local and regional community.
Thus, in order to achieve the objectives set in accordance with the strategic research plan of the university, the following actions, programs and projects are considered:
