The Geomatics and Environmental Research Center is a scientific research facility and a multidisciplinary development unit which is part of “1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia.

The Geomatics and Environmental Research Center does not have legal personality and it submits to the Senate of “1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia.

The activity of the Geomatics and Environmental Research Center focuses on fundamental and applied research in the area of spatial data management, land surveying, urban planning, and environmental protection.

The Geomatics and Environmental Research Center is aimed towards scientific, economic, and community relations development. Also, the research center contributes to training and encouraging research activities among students and to the academic activities in this area.
